Opening Hours  :- The Taj Mahal open after the sunrise to sunset every day ( 6:00 AM To 6:30 PM ) except Friday.

The Night view of the monument is available only 5 days of the Month. The full moon light night and 2 days before and after that day, except Friday and the month of Ramadan.

Why was the Taj Mahal built, it is widely considered as the most beautiful building in the world is called "Taj Mahal", is situated in historical city of Agra. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his third wife, Mumtaj Mahal.

The entire monument was constructed out of white marbles in the 17th century, it is among the finest edifice of Mughal architecture. Recognised by UNESCO as the world heritage site. This monument is also considered to be one of the Seven Wonder of the modern World.

Taj Mahal History in English 

Shah Jahan was the son of the fourth Mughal emperor Jahangir. Shah Jahan then fell in love with Arjumand Banu Begum (Mumtaz) and asked his father if he wanted to marry her. Five years later Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal got married in 1612.

In the year 1628, Shah Jahan became emperor and changed his name to Mumtaz Mahal, meaning "Jewel of the Palace". Even Shah Jahan has married many wives but Mumtaz was better than him.

During the time of giving birth to 14th
Child, he's dead. At that time Shah Jahan promised him that he would build a tomb for him.


To develop Agra as a prestigious tourist-cum-holiday destination, Mr. Infrastructure Finance recently signed an agreement with the Uttar Pradesh government. 

Mahapatra said, "Under the agreement, Sri Infra will advance the city's historical, cultural and heritage area, promote lesser-known monuments and temples and expand the tourist focal point from the Taj Mahal to all the heritage sites."

The Taj Mahal was built by 22,000 laborers, painters, stonecutters, embroidery artists.
The complex work of art and architectural talent took 17 years to complete.The materials used for the construction of the Taj Mahal were transported to the site by 1,000 elephants.
It is rumored that the emperor ordered that all the employees who work at the tomb be cut off their hands so that no one could do anything like that again

Why Taj Mahal Agra is famous all over the world 


The magnificent Taj Mahal was built as a symbol of love between Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. Shah Jahan was the son of the fourth Mughal emperor Jahangir. It took almost 22 years to complete and the architect for this monument is Iranian architect Istad Usa. Nearly 22,000 workers in Central Asia and India worked for this memorial.

History says that Shah Jahan removed the hands of artisans not built like this monument anywhere. Mumtaz's body is placed on the banks of river Yamuna. As he had promised that he built the Taj Mahal on his grave. Even Shah Jahan's body was placed next to the Mumtaz mausoleum.

Traveling India with young kids can be challenging at the best of time. Ease daily parents struggle respect the season. Temperature in Agra can sore above 40 degrees, which is very uncomfortable for visitors.

Avoid visiting during intense summer, heat and monsoon rains between the months of May and August.
November to February is peak season and it can be incredibly overcrowded.
The best time of visit are the shoulder season of March/April and September/October.

But the most worst prohibited items for parents with young kids is FOOD.

The management of the Taj Mahal complex is carried out by the archaeological survey of India and the legal protection of the monument.
